The maintenance required icon is a dashboard light that comes on and stays on until you take your car to a service center for an oil change. There are a number of reasons why getting an oil change is important for your car. So, even if the light is on, it's still safe to use your car to run errands and attend any engagements you may have. With that being said, it's still important to schedule a maintenance check at a service center as soon as you can to ensure that everything is functioning properly. In some cases, the maintenance light coming on might be an indication of a glitch in your car's computer or another mechanical problem. Until you solve the issue, the maintenance light will stay on. Meanwhile, active cornering assist works to guide you around curves with ease. Hill start assist control makes it easier to go up steep inclines, making your commute or towing experience less stressful. Emissions Testing Centers in Dublin, CA

Do you require a smog check as part of your vehicle's registration? Perhaps you're registering a vehicle for the first time, and you're wondering if you can claim a smog test exemption. Here at Dublin Toyota, we've put together a guide to help you understand the key points about smog tests in Dublin, California, and where you can get a test done. more California Smog Test Requirements The state government introduced smog tests to limit vehicle emissions in California. This test can be required when you newly register or reregister a car, truck, or SUV. As part of the test, an inspector will examine your tailpipe and related equipment, including emissions reduction features. They'll also look at other parts of your vehicle to ensure they're in good working order and that you don't have any issues, such as a warning engine light. Several types of vehicles are exempt from the smog test requirement. If you drive a car built before 1975, it's exempt. You also won't need to perform a smog test for an electric vehicle, a diesel-powered vehicle built before 1997, or a natural gas-powered vehicle weighing more than 14,000 pounds. You are exempt if you drive an electric or a gas-powered vehicle less than eight model years old. These exemptions can help make the vehicle registration process a bit easier and save you the $30 to $60 that a typical smog test costs. If your vehicle requires smog testing, there are several steps you can take to make sure it passes the first time around. First, it's well worth getting all your routine maintenance updated. For example, if you're approaching your next oil change, stop by our Dublin service center for an oil change. Smog test inspectors may be more likely to find fault with a vehicle with low engine oil levels because they may associate this with poorer emissions performance. It's also worth driving your car at highway speeds for about 15 minutes before you head to the test center. That's because warming up your car can help produce a more accurate reading of your car's emissions during the test. Finally, you may consider taking a pre-test inspection at one of Dublin's smog testing locations. During this inspection, a specialist will point out any problems with your vehicle that would cause you to automatically fail the test. This will allow you to resolve any issues before performing the smog test. There is a good selection of smog test stations in and around Dublin. Check out one on our list and let us know what you think of their services. Smog Station This location is STAR certified, a government program to ensure the quality of a smog test. You can get a certificate at Smog Station simply by dropping by during business hours, as no appointment is necessary. Smog Station has been serving Dublin drivers since 1984 and has expert technicians on-site six days a week. In addition to performing smog tests, they can handle a wide range of auto repairs and maintenance requests. Hours: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Location: 6355 Scarlett Court, Suite 9, Dublin. Dublin Smog Test At Dublin Smog Test, you can take care of your biennial smog test and vehicle registration in no time. TOYOTA RAV4 SE VS RAV4 XSE

2022 RAV4 Prime SE vs. 2022 RAV4 Prime XSE

As we become more and more eco-conscious, the demand for eco-friendly vehicles is increasing worldwide. To satisfy this demand, Toyota has released two new hybrid versions of the RAV4 for the 2022 model year: the SE and the XSE. Both models are excellent choices, but they do have some key differences. So, which one is right for you? more In this XSE vs. SE comparison guide, we'll pit the two vehicles against each other in a series of categories and see which one comes out on top. By the end, you'll have a clear idea of which SUV is the best choice for you. So, without further ado, let's get started. Performance, Engine, and Transmission On the performance front, both the SE and XSE models are extremely capable. However, some key differences are worth noting. One significant difference between the SE and XSE is that the SE is a plug-in hybrid while the XSE is a conventional hybrid. This means that the SE has a larger 355-volt lithium-ion battery pack that can be driven on electricity alone for shorter distances. Once the battery is depleted, it functions as a regular hybrid. The XSE, on the other hand, is a hybrid that cannot be plugged in. As such, it has a smaller 244-volt nickel-metal hydride battery pack and consequently needs to be refueled more often. Both the SE and XSE come with a 2.5-liter Dynamic Force four-cylinder gas engine. However, the SE's engine is slightly more powerful, as it has auxiliary electric motors. These electric motors give the SE more instant torque, which is helpful when accelerating from a stop or merging onto the highway. The SE produces 302 horsepower and 168 lb-ft of torque, while the XSE produces 219 horsepower and 163 lb-ft of torque. Both models also come equipped with a continuous variable transmission, but the XSE gets paddle shifters as standard. This means that you'll enjoy a more engaging driving experience if you opt for the XSE. However, both models come with all-wheel drive as standard, so you'll be able to take on any terrain confidently, no matter which model you choose. As for acceleration, the SE is the second fastest vehicle in the Toyota lineup. It can go from zero to 60 mph in just over five seconds. The XSE is a bit slower, taking around seven seconds to reach the same speed. In terms of towing capacity, the SE can tow up to 2500 pounds, while the XSE can manage 1750 pounds. Again, the SE comes out on top in this category. Overall, the SE and XSE models are capable vehicles and will offer you a smooth, comfortable ride no matter where you're going. However, the SE has a slight edge when it comes to performance, thanks to its more powerful engine and plug-in hybrid technology. Range and Fuel Economy If you're on the hunt for an eco-friendly vehicle, fuel economy is likely to be one of your main concerns. In this category, the SE and XSE models are awe-inspiring. The SE has an EPA-estimated range of 42 miles when running on electricity alone. This means that you can commute to work or run errands without using any gas at all. When the battery is depleted, the SE has a combined fuel economy of 94 MPGe, which is very impressive for an SUV and more than twice the combined fuel economy of the XSE. On the flip side, the XSE has a combined fuel economy of 40 MPGe. This is slightly lower than the SE, but it's still very impressive. What's more, the XSE has a slightly higher range than the SE when running on gasoline alone. Its EPA-estimated range is 41 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway. In comparison, the SE has a range of 40 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. So, which model is the best choice when it comes to range and fuel economy? If your daily commute is under 42 miles and your primary concern is fuel economy, then the SE is the clear winner. However, if you spend most of your time on the highway and have no access to charging, the XSE is the better choice. Interior and Tech Features Regarding interior and tech features, the SE and XSE models of the RAV range are very well equipped. Both trims come standard with a 7-inch infotainment touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, and a six-speaker audio system. However, the SE doesn't have as many features as the XSE. For instance, the XSE adds a 9-inch touch-screen display, an 11-speaker JBL audio system, and a digital rearview mirror with a panoramic view monitor. The XSE also comes standard with high-end tech features that are optional on the SE, such as front and rear parking sonars, which make parking in tight spaces a breeze — talk about convenience. Overall, the XSE is the better choice regarding interior and tech features. It has a more luxurious feel and comes with high-end tech features that are optional on the SE. Passenger and Cargo Space When it boils down to passenger and cargo space, the SE and XSE models offer plenty of room for five adults and their belongings. However, the XSE has a slight advantage when it comes to cargo space. While the SE has a cargo capacity of 63.2 cubic feet, the XSE offers a larger cargo area of 69.8 cubic feet. This extra space can come in handy when packing for a long road trip or moving house. Price The SE trim of the RAV range starts at $39,800 MSRP, while the XSE trim starts at $43,125 MSRP. So, the XSE is slightly more expensive than the SE. However, when you compare the features of each trim, it's clear that the XSE offers better value for money. So, which model would be the best choice? The answer to this question depends on your needs and preferences. Take the time to consider what's important to you before making your decision. 2023 Toyota bZ4X: Toyota's Electric Car

Are you searching for a modern electric crossover vehicle with plenty of cabin space? The all-new Toyota bZ4X could be just what you're looking for. It has slightly more space inside than the popular RAV4 compact sport utility vehicle (SUV), while boasting a peppy power train to get you around town with ease. Our Toyota experts here at Dublin Toyota have put together a preview of the latest all-electric vehicles to hit our showroom. more The bZ4X is forward-looking and made for excitement. The “bZ” stands for “beyond zero,” a reference to zero-emission vehicles. The bZ4X is just one of 30 electric models that Toyota is planning to roll out across its global operations over the coming years. Toyota bZ4X Engine and Performance The bZ4X's power train consists of a single motor in front-wheel drive and a motor on each axle in all-wheel drive. The base setup can produce 201 horsepower, which is more than enough for daily driving around town or on the highway. All-wheel drive models benefit from slightly more power, with two electric motors combining to generate 214 horsepower. Since the bZ4X doesn't run on gas, its fuel efficiency is measured in miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe). The front-wheel drive bZ4X can achieve up to 119 MPGe, while all-wheel-drive models can reach 104 MPGe. If you want a bZ4X with maximum driving range, you'll probably want to opt for a front-wheel drive model. This bZ4X can drive up to 252 miles when fully charged, while all-wheel drive models can cover 228 miles. The length of time you'll need to fully charge your battery depends on the type of charging station you use. A level 1 charger, which is a 120-volt power outlet at home, would take about 30 hours to fully charge the battery, which is not viable for most drivers. Level 2 chargers can be installed at your home for an extra fee, or you can use a public station. These chargers are much faster, filling up the bZ4X's battery in approximately 9 hours. The fastest option, a DC fast charger, can recharge 80% of your car's battery in under an hour. Electric Toyota Interior Inside the bZ4X, you'll find seating for up to five people. Both rows of seats can accommodate adult passengers, and there are also two sets of LATCH connectors in the rear row if you need to install child seating. If you have a full cabin of passengers, you'll have a little over 38 cubic feet of storage space at the rear. That should be enough space to transport a large amount of luggage for a weekend camping trip or a family vacation. You can access even more space by folding down the rear row of seats, which opens over 56 cubic feet of cargo-carrying capacity. Infotainment and Safety Features of the bZ4X The infotainment system in the bZ4X stands out on a massive display screen measuring 12.3 inches. It includes a six-speaker stereo and wireless device charging, so you can keep your phones fully loaded while you're on the go. Smart phone compatibility is ensured with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A premium nine-speaker stereo is available for a superior listening experience to your favorite music or podcasts. Another standout feature of the bZ4X is its comprehensive range of standard safety technology. The base model includes pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning with steering assist. You also get dynamic cruise control, roadside assist, and lane tracing assist. Many features that are offered by some automakers as optional extras, such as blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert, are included in the base trim level of the bZ4X. Two important optional upgrades are the surround-view parking camera and downhill assist feature. The first provides you with an aerial view of your vehicle on your screen so you can detect potential risks from all angles, while the second gives you added control over the bZ4X when you're on a trail or traversing rough terrain. Toyota bZ4X Colors Toyota is offering the bZ4X in an attractive range of exterior and interior colors so that you can put your own personal touch on your next electric crossover. Exterior colors include: Black. Elemental Silver Metallic. Heavy Metal. Supersonic Red. Wind Chill Pearl. The cabin of the bZ4X has a cool black design, which combines well with any of the exterior colors you may choose. Toyota bZ4X Trim Options The two trim levels available for 2023 are XLE and Limited. They both come standard with front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive is offered as an optional extra. The XLE has an MSRP of $42,000, while the Limited starts at $46,700. The base XLE trim level includes five USB ports in the cabin and a 7-inch digital gauge cluster. With the Weather Package, you can add a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel and heated front seats for even more comfort. The Limited trim level comes with a heated steering wheel and ambient floor lighting in the cabin. You'll also benefit from a power liftgate, a surround-view parking camera, and ventilated and heated front seats. Optional upgrades with this trim include heated rear seats and a nine-speaker premium stereo. If you want to take advantage of faster charging at home, you can purchase an EV charger as an optional upgrade. Keep in mind that you'll also need to pay an installation fee for the charger, since this task needs to be carried out by a professional electrician. We hope that our rundown of Toyota's all-new electric SUV helps you decide whether the bZ4X is right for you. Would you like to book a test drive in Dublin to test its performance out? EV charging stations in Dublin, CA

Do you own an electric vehicle (EV) or are you considering buying one? A major factor you'll be thinking about is where you can charge your EV in Dublin. Our local experts here at Dublin Toyota have put together a list based on our knowledge of the area to give you some suggestions. more How Does Electric Car Charging in California Work? Electric charging is important for owners of battery-powered electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid cars. While a plug-in hybrid combines a gas-powered engine with an electric motor, an all-electric vehicle is powered by a battery and electric motors. Plug-in hybrids typically have a shorter all-electric driving range of roughly 30 to 50 miles, while all-electric vehicles can have a driving range of over 300 miles when fully charged. There are three electric charging options for your vehicle, which are often referred to as level 1, level 2, and level 3 charging. Level 1 charging is when you connect your EV to a household power outlet. This type of charging is available to anyone with a 120-volt power outlet in their home. The big drawback to this method is that it's extremely slow. A typical EV will take in the region of 40 to 60 hours to fully charge on a level 1 charger, which is several days. As a result, level 1 charging is not a practical option for many drivers. Level 2 charging is available at public charging stations throughout Dublin. You can also install a level 2 charger at home, but installation costs are quite expensive. A level 2 charger can fully charge an EV's battery in approximately 10 hours. Level 3 charging is only available at fast-charging public sites that are sometimes called DC fast chargers. It's the fastest way to get power into your vehicle's battery. Some EVs can charge their battery on a level 3 charger in an hour or less. The main thing to keep in mind with level 3 chargers is that they're typically a more expensive option than level 2 charging. The Camry features a base four-cylinder engine. An optional V-6 that churns out over 300 horsepower is available for California drivers who want a bit more power under the hood. You can choose between front-wheel-drive (FWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations, with AWD being an ideal choice if you want more control on slippery roads. FWD offers slightly better fuel economy. The LE and SE trims are the bottom two of five trim options available with the Camry. The other three are XLE, XSE, and TRD. A hybrid version of the Camry is also on offer with a different trim lineup. Camry LE vs. SE Engine and Performance Both the LE and SE trims are equipped with the Camry's 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. It puts out 203 horsepower and comes standard with front-wheel drive. If you'd prefer all-wheel drive, it costs an additional $1,400. In terms of gas mileage, both the LE and SE trims achieve 28 mpg on city roads. When your sedan reaches highway speeds, it will manage 39 mpg. These numbers drop to 25 mpg and 34 mpg respectively with AWD. Camry LE vs. SE Interior Features The LE trim is fitted with fabric upholstery and a three-spoke steering wheel. If you'd like a little more luxury in your cabin, the SE trim provides just that with synthetic leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. If you need to install seats for your kids, both Camry trims have two sets of LATCH connectors on the outermost rear seats and a tether anchor for the middle seat. The Camry LE offers a wide range of infotainment tech to keep you and your passengers entertained. The infotainment system is led by a 7-inch screen, which is paired with a six-speaker stereo. You benefit from standard smart phone compatibility thanks to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other connectivity options on offer in the LE include BlueTooth and Amazon Alexa. If you want to stay in touch with work colleagues and friends wherever you go, the Camry LE also has a WiFi hotspot. The SE shares the same infotainment features with the LE. Both models also have a Nightshade edition, if interested, which adds a touch of darkness to the interior and exterior. LE vs. SE Safety Features The LE and SE trims share most of the same standard driver safety features. Forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency braking are designed to warn you of potential accidents and bring your Camry to a swift stop. When you reach highway speeds, adaptive cruise control can adjust your speed automatically to ensure you maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. Other helpful highway features include lane departure warning and lane keep assist. Another helpful feature is traffic sign recognition, which can alert you to speed limits and other driving rules. One safety feature that's available standard in the SE but not available in the LE trim is the tire pressure monitor, which provides you with direct readouts of the pressure of each tire on your Camry. Finally, both the LE and SE trims are equipped with Toyota Care's roadside assistance program. This feature is especially useful if you run out of fuel, have a flat tire, or need your Camry to be towed to the nearest Toyota dealership for urgent repairs. Camry LE vs. SE Pricing and Options The Camry LE has an MSRP of $25,295. It's the slightly more affordable option if you're shopping on a modest budget. The Camry SE comes in with a starting price of $26,835. The extra cost is well worth paying if you'd like the advantage of a more comfortable cabin and enjoy the unique exterior styling features offered with the performance-oriented SE. In addition to the standard setup of these two trims, you can add a number of optional packages to gain access to premium features. For example, the Cold Weather package in the LE trim gets you heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, which can come in handy if you're on the road on a chilly winter's day. There's also a Moonroof with Options package, which gets you a moonroof and some extra safety features. These features are blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert, which combine to provide you additional protection against vehicles approaching you from behind. Finally, you can opt for the Audio Upgrade with Options package, which incorporates all the add-ons in the Moonroof package and wireless device charging. We hope that our comparison of the LE and SE trims has helped you decide which option in the Camry's lineup is best suited to your needs. While both trims have a lot in common, the LE trim will appeal to budget-conscious buyers, while the SE is great for those who want a more upscale feel in the cabin. If you want to access the Camry's more powerful V-6 engine or relax in genuine leather upholstery, you'll need to take a look at the Camry's higher trims.
