California Electric Vehicle Tax Credit

California's government is known for promoting sustainable practices and eco-friendly initiatives, and it's now supporting green energy by offering electric vehicle (EV) tax credits. For consumers who are considering purchasing an EV, this could be the perfect time to make the switch to clean transportation. In this article, we answer questions that you may have about this tax credit initiative and discuss whether you may be eligible for similar schemes in the California area. more What Is a Tax Credit? A tax credit is a direct reduction in the amount of tax you owe to the government. Unlike deductions or exemptions, tax credits reduce your tax liability by the exact credit amount, dollar for dollar. This means that if you're eligible for a tax credit of $1,000, your overall tax bill will decrease by that same amount. What Is the California EV Tax Credit? Technically speaking, there are no EV tax credit programs in California. Instead, there are state- and county-level incentives and rebates. These are designed to encourage the adoption of EVs by providing financial relief to consumers who purchase or lease eligible electric cars. You can combine these rebates or incentives with other federal tax credits to further reduce the overall cost of transitioning to an EV. The amount varies depending on the battery capacity of the vehicle, so you'll typically receive a larger reward for a vehicle with a greater electric range. What Is the Federal EV Tax Credit? Known as the clean vehicle credit, the federal EV tax credit is a nationwide incentive that offers a reduction in your federal taxes when you purchase an eligible EV. Aimed at encouraging people to choose clean transportation options, the credit ranges from $2,500 to $7,500, depending on the car's range and capacity. Unlike the state-level incentives and rebates found in California, this credit applies throughout the country, allowing more customers to take advantage of the potential savings. If you combine both federal and state incentives, switching to an EV becomes the more affordable and environmentally responsible choice. Who Is Eligible for the Federal EV Tax Credit? There are certain conditions that you must meet to qualify for the federal EV tax credit. Unlike before, some EVs face disqualification based on their MSRP. Specifically, to be eligible for the tax credit, the MSRP of your EV must be equal to or lower than these amounts: $55,000 for electric cars. $80,000 for zero-emission SUVs, vans, or trucks. There are also personal income restrictions to consider. Starting January 1, 2023, not all EV buyers can claim this credit. Only those who make less than these figures annually will be eligible: Single filers: $150,000. Joint filers: $300,000. Head-of-household filers: $225,000. Which EVs Are Eligible for the Federal EV Tax Credit? This year, new conditions have been put in place by the government that effectively reduce the number of customers who qualify for tax credits upon purchasing an EV. The list of vehicles has become shorter, with only EVs assembled in North America and bought between August 17 and December 31, 2022, being eligible. So far, these are the 2022 and 2023 EVs on the list: Audi Q5. BMW 330e. BMW X5 xDrive45e plug-in hybrid. Chrysler Pacifica plug-in hybrid. Ford E-Transit. Ford Escape plug-in hybrid. Ford F-150 Lightning. Ford Mustang MACH-E. Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. Jeep Wrangler 4xe. Lincoln Aviator plug-in hybrid. Lincoln Corsair plug-in hybrid. Lucid Air. Mercedes EQS SUV. Nissan Leaf. Rivian electric delivery van. Rivian R1S. Rivian R1T. Volvo S60 Recharge. If you want to know which Toyota vehicles qualify for a tax credit, incentive, or rebate, contact us at Dublin Toyota today. We'll be happy to chat with you about the incentives that are available in Dublin and other parts of California. What Is the California Clean Fuel Reward? The clean fuel reward is an incentive given by the state to consumers who buy an eligible EV from a participating car dealership in California. The maximum amount you can get is $750. However, the program is inactive at this time. What Is the California Clean Vehicle Rebate Program? The California Clean Vehicle Rebate Program (CCVRP) is a subsidy program for California residents who buy eligible EVs. In February this year, the state's Air Resources Board increased the rebate amount for purchasing low- and zero-emission vehicles by $3,000. This means that you can now receive a maximum of $7,500 for a qualifying EV. Depending on what car you purchase, these are the maximum rebate amounts you can hope to receive: $7,500 for purchasing battery-electric or hydrogen-fuel-cell vehicles. $6,500 for purchasing plug-in hybrid cars. It's important to note that these rebates don't just apply to vehicle purchases. If you lease an electric car over a duration of at least 30 months, you're also entitled to this incentive. This flexibility allows consumers to enjoy the benefits of eco-friendly transportation without committing to full EV ownership. Who Is Eligible To Receive CCVRP Rebates? EVs are often more expensive than traditional gasoline-powered cars. This can put them out of reach of many consumers, especially those who are on a tight budget. The rebate program aims to make these cars more affordable for these customers, so it's only available to individuals with low to moderate incomes. If your gross annual household income falls below these thresholds, you'll be able to qualify for the rebate: Single filers: $135,000. Head-of-household filers: $175,000. Joint filers: $200,000. Which Vehicles Are Eligible for CCVRP Rebates? There are more EVs that qualify for CCVRP than are eligible for the federal EV tax credit. Currently, the 2023 Toyota bZ4X is on this list, so be sure to check out this new Toyota model. There you have it, a short guide to the rebates and tax credits you can get for purchasing an EV in Dublin, California. If we've missed any important information, let us know. Toyota Tundra Towing Capacity: How Much Can a Tundra Tow?

The Toyota Tundra is a full-size pickup truck that has something for everyone. Whether you're looking for a truck to assist at a worksite, enjoy going off-roading on the weekends, or want something comfortable to drive around town in, the Tundra has you covered. If you're looking for a truck that can tow, the Tundra is a winner there as well. With 12 different trim levels, the Tundra's towing capacity ranges from 8,300 to 12,000 pounds. That means a Tundra can tow your boat for a weekend outing, a camper for an outdoor adventure, or your building materials for a work site. more Toyota Tundra's Towing Features The Toyota Tundra is designed with towing in mind. Advanced towing technology works with the engine to optimize towing performance. When a trailer is connected to the Tundra's seven-pin connector, the computer automatically calculates the length of the trailer and adjusts the throttle response accordingly. These improvements to towing capabilities set the newer Tundras apart from the older versions. If you remember not being impressed with the towing capacity of the Tundra in the past, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the improvements that have been made since the 2022 model overhaul. The 2023 model has the highest towing capacity yet, making it the perfect year to purchase a Tundra if you're looking for a truck that can tow all your gear. Engine and Performance The 2023 Toyota Tundra keeps it simple with engine options. After all, if something works, you want to stick with it. All Tundras come equipped with either a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 or a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 hybrid, and both are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The engine on the base trim of the Tundra, the SR, operates with 348 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. The other non-hybrid trims increase power slightly to 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid engine includes an electric motor that's integrated into the transmission, creating the ability to drive using just electric power at lower speeds. The hybrid V-6 engine is the most powerful of all, generating  437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. The suspension of the Tundra received a major overhaul in 2022, and the 2023 version continues to utilize a rear coil-spring suspension system. This upgrade from the old leaf-spring design creates a much smoother ride and improves handling capabilities. Towing Capacity by Trim Level The towing capacity for a Toyota Tundra varies by engine and cab size. Since there are so many variations of the Tundra available to choose from, it's important to know the towing capacities of each configuration to help you make your decision. If towing isn't something you're interested in, it might not be necessary to pay for one of the more expensive trim levels. On the other hand, if towing is something you plan to do often, you want to make sure you choose a trim level that meets your needs. Tundra SR The base model of the Tundra is the SR. Trim options include double cab or crew cab, 5.5-foot, 6.5-foot, and 8.1-foot bed options, and rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive capabilities. All versions of the SR have a towing capacity of 8,300 pounds. Tundra SR5 The next model up offers eight configurations and slight variations between towing capacities. The following chart outlines the specific towing capacities. Trim Configuration Towing Capacity (in pounds) Rear-wheel drive, double cab, 6.5-foot bed 12,000 Rear-wheel drive, crew cab, 5.5-foot bed 11,400 Rear-wheel drive, crew cab, 6.5-foot bed 11,270 Rear-wheel drive, double cab, 8.1-foot bed 11,370 Four-wheel drive, double cab, 6.5-foot bed 11,200 Four-wheel drive, crew cab, 5.5-foot bed 11,160 Four-wheel drive, crew cab, 6.5-foot bed 11,010 Four-wheel drive, double cab, 8.1-foot bed 11,090 Tundra Limited The Tundra Limited is the first trim level that introduces the hybrid engine in the lineup. It includes features such as Fox 2.5-inch internal bypass remote reservoir shocks, additional underbody protection, a front anti-roll bar, and 18-inch TRD wheels wrapped in all-terrain rubber. There's just one option for the TRD Pro — a four-wheel drive crew cab hybrid with a 5.5-foot bed. The towing capacity is 11,175 pounds. Tundra Capstone This flagship truck includes top-of-the-line features, including a luxurious interior, 22-inch wheels, and standard power running boards. Like the TRD Pro, it only comes in a four-wheel drive crew cab hybrid with a 5.5-foot bed. The towing capacity for the Capstone is 10,340 pounds. The Toyota Tundra iForce Max: Everything You Should Know

In 2022, Toyota revolutionized the hybrid market by introducing the Tundra's iForce Max engine. Toyota's engineers went out on a limb with this innovative hybrid design, and by doing so, successfully created an engine capable of providing the power and performance that truck drivers have come to expect. This powertrain deviates from the traditional parallel hybrid engine system and uses a series system instead. The result is an engine that produces an impressive 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is a great reason to take a closer look at the Toyota Tundra. more What Is the iForce Max? The iForce Max is the hybrid engine that was first introduced on select Tundra models in 2022 and continues to be used in the 2023 models. Toyota knows a thing or two about electric vehicles and hybrids. After all, the company has been producing hybrid engines for over 20 years and dominates the hybrid market — five of the top 10 best-selling hybrid vehicles are Toyotas, including all the top three. However, with the 2022 Toyota Tundra, engineers completely transformed the hybrid engine design to create something brand new. The design of the iForce Max differs from traditional hybrid engines, as it uses a series system rather than the traditional parallel system. In the traditional parallel system, a gasoline engine and two electric motor generators are connected to a planetary gearset transmission. The first motor works to take power from the engine and converts it to the battery to produce the electrical power for which a hybrid is known. The second motor is connected to the wheels to give them power and torque. The result is a highly fuel-efficient vehicle with slight limitations on power and torque. With the iForce Max, engineers deviated from the parallel system to use a series system instead. With the series system, a single electric motor is sandwiched using bell housing between the 3.4-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine and the 10-speed automatic transmission. The clutch is situated between the motor and the engine, and when it's open, the engine can turn off, which allows the electric motor to take over and send power to the wheels. When the clutch is closed, the twin-turbo V-6 engine takes over to power the wheels. This series system allows both the gasoline engine and the electric motor to send all their available torque directly to the wheels as opposed to the parallel system, which has to send some of its power to a motor generator that's not connected to the wheels. The result is a hybrid engine with exceptional torque — a quality that's in high demand for pickup truck drivers. How Does the iForce Max Perform? The iForce Max has great performance ratings. In fact, if you're looking for the Tundra with the most horsepower and torque, you'll want to look at one of the hybrid models. The iForce Max achieves 437 horsepower at 5,200 rpm. In contrast, the traditional iForce powertrain achieves 389 horsepower at 5,200 rpm or 358 horsepower for the base model. The iForce Max generates 583 lb-ft of torque at 2,400 rpm compared to 479 lb-ft of torque at 2,400 rpm for the traditional engine (406 lb-ft at 2,000 rpm for the base model). If you're interested in towing, the iForce Max produces plenty of power for your towing needs. While the highest towing capacity for a Tundra is 12,000 pounds and belongs to the traditionally powered SR5 model, all of the hybrid models of the Tundra are capable of towing very close to this capacity. The lowest towing capacity for the iForce Max belongs to the four-wheel-drive crew cab Capstone trim with a 5.5-foot bed, coming in at 10,340 pounds. The highest towing capacity for the iForce Max is the two-wheel-drive crew cab Limited trim with the 5.5-foot bed, reaching 11,450 pounds. One perk of having a hybrid engine is improved gas mileage, and the iForce Max is no exception. With the iForce Max, you're not only getting the Tundra with the most power, but in most cases, you're also getting the most fuel-efficient Tundra. The EPA estimated fuel rating for the two-wheel-drive iForce Max is 20/24/22 (city/highway/combined mpg). This is an improvement on the 18/24/20 mpg and 18/23/20 mpg for estimated fuel ratings for city/highway/combined found on the traditionally powered two-wheel-drive models. For the four-wheel-drive models, the iForce Max achieves 19/22/21 mpg on some models and 18/20/19 mpg on another for city/highway/combined, generally beating the 17/23/19 mpg for city/highway/combined rating of the traditional four-wheel drive. Which Tundra Models Have the iForce Max? While Toyota has expanded the availability of the iForce Max by utilizing them in the 2023 Sequoia, the Tundra will always be known for being the first vehicle to receive this engine. In 2023, the iForce Max hybrid engine is available with five trim levels and configurations, all with a crew cab. The first trim with the iForce Max engine availability is the Limited, and you have the option of rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive and either a 5.5-foot bed or a 6.5-foot bed. The Platinum and 1794 Edition trim levels have the same configuration options. Both the TRD Pro and the Capstone trim levels come in just one configuration — a 5.5-foot bed four-wheel drive. The iForce Max engine is the only engine option for these models. Truck drivers in Dublin, California, who are looking for both power and fuel efficiency can look no further than the Tundra's iForce Max hybrid engine. With a revolutionary design that differs from Toyota's other hybrid vehicles, the iForce Max is capable of producing more horsepower and torque than its traditionally powered counterparts and has better fuel economy to boot. Be sure to check our latest inventory of iForce Max-powered Tundras, and feel free to come in to take one for a test drive. We think you'll be impressed with the performance and handling of these innovative pickups. In fact, you might even forget you're driving a hybrid. ASE Certification Testing Centers in Alameda County

A National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification test is a popular qualification program for the automotive service industry. It helps to ensure that technicians have the right knowledge and experience to perform repairs and services in a safe and effective manner. It's a highly sought-after credential that you can earn through testing, education, and experience. If you're a technician looking to advance your career or increase your marketability, it's definitely worth pursuing. The same is true for anyone who wants to enter the automotive service industry. This article explores what an ASE certification is and provides a list of testing centers in and near Alameda County, California. more What Is an ASE Certification? Before answering this question, it's important to understand what the ASE is. The ASE is a non-profit organization founded in 1972 that sets standards for the automotive service industry. They do this by providing training and certification to professionals working in the field who want to improve their skills and obtain proof of their expertise. An ASE certification is a voluntary credential that automotive technicians and mechanics earn by passing tests and demonstrating competency in various repair and diagnostic procedures. To be certified, they must also meet specific eligibility requirements. What Is an ASE Certification Master Status? Technicians who obtain certification in all the tests included in a specific series or category earn the Master status for that area. For example, technicians who passed tests A1 through A8 may be considered Master Automobile Technicians. Similarly, a person who received certification by passing T2 through T8 is known as a Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician. It's important to note that the Master Technician designation isn't a permanent status. Technicians must keep every required certification in the series up to date in order to maintain their status. If at any point the certification for one or more tests expires, the Master Technician status may be revoked. It's possible to regain the designation by completing the necessary recertification tests. What Are ASE Certification Tests? The ASE certification test is used to evaluate a technician's knowledge and experience in a particular area of automotive service, such as brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and engine repair. The ASE also offers specialty certifications for technicians who specialize in certain areas, such as air conditioning or fuel injection. Passing the ASE certification test is a great way to prove to employers and customers that you are proficient and up to date on the latest technologies. The ASE tests cover various topics in the automotive industry, and it's not a requirement to take all of them in order to get certified. Currently, there are 58 tests for the following that you can choose to take: Auto and truck parts. Cars and light trucks. Collision repair. Medium-heavy trucks. Military tactical wheeled vehicles. School and transit buses. Truck equipment. What Are the ASE Certification Requirements? There are two requirements for you to be able to earn an ASE certification. Aside from passing the test for your specific area of expertise, it's also important that you have enough work experience and are able to verify it. The ASE typically requires a minimum of two years of experience, although some tests may require more. One year may also be enough, provided you've obtained a relevant degree or pursued formal education. Benefits of Becoming ASE-Certified While an ASE certification isn't a requirement for many jobs in the automotive industry, there are still many reasons to earn one. First and foremost, it can provide you with a sense of accomplishment and pride in your work. Other than this, a certification in your chosen field can also benefit you in the following ways: Gives you an edge in the job market: Having a certification demonstrates to employers that you have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform the job. This can help you stand out from the competition and increase your chances of getting hired. Expands your opportunities in the industry: With an ASE certification, you can apply for jobs in higher-level positions and even start your own business. It can also open doors to lucrative opportunities, such as teaching, consulting, and business management. Helps you reach your professional goals: Having an ASE certification can help you secure promotions, higher salaries, and more challenging positions. It shows that you're committed to the industry and that you stay current with the latest developments. Offers peace of mind: Since you're aware that your skills have been tested and verified, you can confidently perform repairs and services knowing that you have the right qualifications. This can give you peace of mind as a technician, especially when dealing with complex repairs. ASE Testing Centers in Alameda County There are six ASE testing centers in and around Alameda County. The RAV4 comes in colors including Magnetic Gray Metallic, Lunar Rock, Wind Chill Pearl, Ice Cap, Cavalry Blue, Midnight Black Metallic, Ruby Flare Pearl, Blueprint, and Silver Sky Metallic. If you're looking for a new SUV, you might also be considering the Ford Escape. The Escape is an SUV that many compare to the RAV4 because of its size and capabilities. The Highlander Hybrid comes in colors including Wind Chill Pearl, Midnight Black Metallic, Celestial Silver Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Cypress, Blueprint, Ruby Flare Pearl, Moon Dust, and Cement. The Hyundai Santa Fe is one SUV that offers similar cargo space and features as the Highlander Hybrid. RAV4 Hybrid Combined MPG: 40 miles per gallon Starting MSRP: $30,725 The 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is the best Toyota SUV for gas mileage. For the Toyota SUV gas mileage comparison, it comes in at one mile per gallon higher than the 2023 Venza. It comes with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with front and rear electric drive motors. It offers up to 219 horsepower and has 8.1 inches of clearance so you can tackle even the toughest terrains. The RAV4 Hybrid offers all the same great features as the RAV4, but with a boosted fuel economy from the extra electric power. This model comes in the same colors as the RAV4. However, for those who want to indulge in nostalgia and fun, you can still enjoy a drive-in or independent movie theater. You can bring your friends or family to one of the several in Alameda County and the surrounding area. They’re also an excellent choice for an upcoming date night. more Image by Meg Boulden is licensed with Unsplash license Alameda Theatre Cineplex and Grill Pop-Up Drive-In Bring the family to the Alameda Theatre Cineplex for a fun night at the pop-up drive-in. The complex is located at 1951 Monarch St. in Alameda. There are no assigned parking spots, but you do need to buy a car pass to enjoy the show. The movie begins at sundown, with gates closing 15 minutes prior. The screenings here tend to focus on more cultural films. While you can find a few new projects from Hollywood, the focus is more on movies from the past. The upcoming schedule is posted on their website. General admission tickets are $15. Seniors over 60 pay $12.50. The New Parkway The New Parkway is a unique independent theater at 474 24th St. in Oakland. Not only do they play first-run films, but you can get a meal in the on-site cafe before your movie. They’re open throughout the week. The hours for the cafe adjust with the movies' times to ensure you can eat without having to rush before the show. Beyond the movies, the theater hosts a theme night every night of the week so customers can enjoy an activity before or after their show. Some examples of the themes include trivia, art, cooking classes, and even a video game tournament. Wednesdays are a fantastic night to catch a movie as it’s a pay-what-you-can night. After the showings, the staff donates their profits from the night to a local charity through a Karma Cinema program. All the money stays in the East Bay to support charities in the area. You can rent it out for private celebrations if you enjoy the location. Landmark Piedmont Theatre Another independent option in Oakland is the Landmark Piedmont Theatre at 4186 Piedmont Ave. They show first-run moves throughout the week. Beyond the newest from Hollywood, they also show art and independent films. The building houses three screens with state-of-the-art sound and video equipment. Guests will settle into luxury leather seats that’ll make them feel at home for the length of their show. Before the show, the concession stands are packed with everybody's favorites. If you purchase a large soft drink or popcorn, you can get free refills if you don’t mind missing a few minutes of the movie. Have you ever wanted to watch a movie with the people who made it? Piedmont offers that chance with filmmakers' Q&A sessions. You’ll enjoy the movie as usual and then be able to discuss it with the filmmaker and your fellow audience members. If you’re looking for a discount ticket rate, Tuesday night movies are $7. If you enjoy Piedmont, you can rent it for special events. how to reset the tire pressure light on a toyota corolla

How To Reset The Tire Pressure Light On A Toyota Corolla

One of the most useful features on your Toyota Corolla is its Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which alerts you if the air pressure in your tires needs adjusting. This advanced system keeps drivers informed of the condition of their tires, allowing them to respond quickly and get the best performance out of their vehicle. To reset your tire pressure light, place your key into the ignition and turn it slightly without starting the car, then hold down on the TPMS reset button until the light flashes three times and let go. more If you're still feeling unsure, our staff at Dublin Toyota in Dublin, CA, put together this guide explaining how to reset the tire pressure light on a Toyota Corolla so you can feel prepared the next time your tire pressure light comes on. Learn about how the TPMS works and how understanding it can ensure you always have a safe and capable vehicle ready to drive. Toyota Tire Pressure Monitoring System For nearly 15 years, all cars manufactured to be sold in the U.S. are required by law to have a tire pressure monitoring system, or TPMS. On your Toyota, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System uses tiny sensors to keep track of the amount of air pressure in each of your four tires. The system can detect when pressure levels drop below the recommended number for that specific model, and subsequently warn the driver by switching on a light. On your Corolla, the light will appear as an amber-colored exclamation point on your dashboard that's easy to notice. Why Is Your Tire Pressure Light On? There are two primary reasons for your tire pressure light to turn on: Weather changes: Sudden changes in weather can have a direct impact on the air pressure in your tires, especially when temperatures drop quickly. The low pressure in the air will reflect in your tires, and if you haven't kept up with regular tire checks, one of your tires may lose enough air to trigger the sensors in the TPMS. Air leak: Air leaks occur when items get lodged into your tires, causing air to leak out. These can be obvious, especially if you run over something large that immediately results in a flat tire, but tiny holes in your tires can release air slowly and trigger the TPMS light seemingly out of nowhere. Why Is Your Tire Pressure Light Blinking? A blinking tire pressure light on a Toyota Corolla has a different meaning than when the light simply turns on. This indicates an issue with the tire pressure monitoring system itself. Remember that the TPMS works because there are tiny sensors inside each of your tires, near the inner part of the rim. These sensors run on a battery, so if that battery needs to be replaced, the light flashes. A blinking light can also indicate an issue with the sensors altogether. If the sensors aren't functioning properly, you can unknowingly drive with low-pressure tires, which can be dangerous. Be aware of the additional warnings lights that can come up on your dashboard as well and when to take care of them, to ensure you have a safe and smooth drive Under-inflated vs. Inflated Tires It's clear that the Toyota TPMS is important for the safe operation of your vehicle, but just how crucial is it for tires to have the right air pressure? Here's a breakdown of how under-inflated tires compare in performance to ones with the proper amount of pressure: Under-inflated Tires If you've ever driven a vehicle with low tire pressure, you probably already know that the sensations are the first clue that something's off. Tires with low pressure have poor traction, which can be dangerous on slippery roads. They also can't bear the same amount of weight as properly inflated tires, which can cause them to sag and lead to a flat or blowout. The less air tires have, the more work your car has to do to propel your vehicle forward, which leads to poor fuel economy. Inflated Tires When a tire has the right amount of air, you can enjoy a much smoother and safer driving experience. Inflated tires last longer, as they undergo less wear and tear thanks to the reduced tread. You can also save money on gas, as inflated tires optimize your vehicle's fuel economy. How To Reset Tire Pressure Light on a Toyota Corolla Here are in-depth steps you can follow to reset the tire pressure light on your Toyota Corolla: 1. Turn Off the Engine If you notice your tire pressure light come on, park your vehicle in a safe spot and turn the engine off. If you can, adjust the pressure in your tires using the guide on the inside of your driver's side door as a number reference. You can also schedule a service appointment if you're not comfortable doing it yourself. 2. Turn the Vehicle "On" Next, put your key in the ignition and turn it slightly so that the vehicle enters the "On" position without starting the car. Using the buttons on your steering wheel, navigate to the Settings tab on your dashboard and select "Vehicle Settings." Press the "OK" button on your steering wheel and then click on "TPWS" to access your vehicle's warning system. 3. Press and Hold "Set Pressure" After selecting the "TPWS" button (which replaces the "M" for monitoring with a "W" for warning), navigate to "Set Pressure." Hold down on your steering wheel's "OK" button until you see the warning light blink three times. You should then see a "Setting Tire Pressure Warning System" message appear on your information display. This indicates that the reset is complete. Schedule a Service Appointment at Dublin Toyota The next time your tires need some air, schedule a service appointment with the experts at Dublin Toyota. Toyota Tire Guide: Tire Pressure, Warning Lights, Sizes, & More

One could argue all day about the most important part of a car, but the tires are certainly near the top of this list. Equipping your vehicle with the right tires at the appropriate pressure not only ensures your safety but offers a good driving experience and saves you from excessive maintenance and repair costs. You probably don't think about your tire pressure until the warning light comes on in your car, so consider educating yourself through this guide. Dublin Toyota is here to give you all the tire pressure information you need to be a responsible vehicle owner. more What Is Tire Pressure? Toyota Landcruiser J40 by dave.see is licensed with CC BY 2.0 Tire pressure describes the amount of force that the air inside of your car's tires creates. It essentially measures how inflated the tires are using the pounds per square inch (PSI) metric. Owners maintain their tire pressure according to manufacturer recommendations, though pressure can fluctuate based on factors like changing temperatures. Proper tire inflation reduces accelerated wear, ensuring you can safely drive on the road and use your tires for as long as possible before getting replacements. Recommended Tire Pressure for Toyotas Now that you understand the importance of properly inflating your tires, you might wonder what the ideal psi is for your Toyota. Passenger Toyota cars usually recommend between 32 psi to 35 psi, but ensure you know the correct psi for your specific model. Newer cars usually have a sticker on the inside of the driver's door that lists the recommended tire pressure. If your driver's door doesn't have a sticker, consult the owner's manual or online resources. Here are some example tire pressures according to their owner's manuals: Toyota RAV4 tire pressure: The 2022 Toyota RAV4 calls for a maximum of 35 psi for the front and rear tires. Toyota Camry tire pressure: The 2022 Toyota Camry has a maximum pressure of 35 psi for the front and rear tires. Toyota Corolla tire pressure: The recommended psi for the 2022 Toyota Corolla is 38 psi for the front tires and 36 for the rear tires. What Tire Sizes Mean Aside from properly inflating your tires, ensure you equip your vehicle with properly sized tires. Tires meant for your car give you a better handling experience, improve fuel economy, and prevent alignment issues. They also improve traction and braking, make it easier to change directions, absorb road shocks, and support the weight of your vehicle. Whether you're getting new tires for your car or considering available options for a new vehicle, you might notice that tires have strings of numbers and letters on their sidewalls. The letter at the very beginning of this string tells you what type of vehicle the tire is compatible with. "P" is common and indicates that the tire is for passenger vehicles. There's also "LT," which indicates that the tire is for light trucks. If the string has no letters at the beginning, it's a Euro-Metric tire that might have different load capacities than a P-Metric tire. The first three letters in the string indicate the width of the tire from sidewall to sidewall in millimeters. For instance, a P215/65 R15 tire has a width of 215 millimeters. After the slash mark in the string is a number that indicates the ratio of the height of the tire's cross-section to its width. For a P215/65 R15 tire, the 65 aspect ratio means that the height is equal to 65% of the tire's width. The letter after the aspect ratio reveals the tire's construction type. For instance, "R" stands for Radial and indicates that the layers run radially. The final number indicates the wheel's diameter in inches. Recommended Tires for Toyotas The recommended tires for Toyotas depend on what year and model you have. You can choose the standard tires that come with the purchase of a new vehicle or opt for available options. Here are some examples of recommended tires for Toyota models: Best tires for a Toyota Camry: The 2021 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE has a smaller tire size of 205/65R16 compared to other models that boast sizes like 235/45R18. Best tires for a Toyota Highlander: A 2013 Toyota Highlander Hybrid has two recommended tire sizes: 245/65R17 and 245/55R19. If you opt for a 2021 model, you can choose between a 235/65R18 or 235/55R20 size depending on the trim. Best tires for a Toyota Tacoma: As a midsize pickup truck, the 2021 Toyota Tacoma has tire sizes as large as 265/70R16. Best tires for a Toyota Corolla: The smaller 2021 Toyota Corolla trims have a 195/65R15 tire size, while other trims feature a 225/40R18 tire size. How To Check Tire Pressure on the Toyota App Even if you have the right tires and inflate them properly, the tire pressure light for your Toyota might start to flash. Tire pressure can change because of conditions ranging from the weather to road bumps. You can check your tire pressure manually, but consider taking advantage of the Toyota app. This innovative technology makes it easy to view the psi from your smartphone and fill up (or deflate) if needed. Here's how to use the app if your Toyota tire pressure light comes on: Download the app. Complete the registration process. Select "My Garage." Select "Maintenance." View the readout for your tire pressure. How To Reset Your Tire Pressure Light Filling your tires to the appropriate psi should cause the warning light to turn off, but it might remain on. The instructions for resetting your tire pressure light may vary depending on your vehicle's model, but here's how to reset the tire pressure light on a Toyota Corolla: Drive at or above 50 miles per hour for 10 minutes. Turn off the vehicle, then turn the key to the "On" position without starting the engine. Hold the TPMS reset button until the light blinks three times, then release it. Start the car and give the sensor 20 minutes to refresh. Does ToyotaCare Cover Tires? Whether you need maintenance for your tires for a Toyota Corolla, Tacoma, or Highlander, know that ToyotaCare covers tire rotations for the first two years or 25,000 miles. This no-cost maintenance plan comes with your purchase of a new Toyota. We hope this guide gives you a better understanding of tire pressure, tire sizes, and everything in between. Toyota Corolla Cross vs RAV4

The Corolla Cross and RAV4 are two great Toyota SUVs. While both crossovers are similar in size, they feature some key differences that could make you choose one over the other. Whether you're shopping on a modest budget, looking for an SUV for your family, or searching for the best crossover for your daily commute, we're confident that the Corolla Cross or RAV4 will appeal to you. Here's a look at how these two vehicles stack up, courtesy of our SUV experts at Dublin Toyota. more Corolla Cross vs. RAV4 Engine and Performance Image by Toyota Toyota powers the RAV4 with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. This unit is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive in its standard setup, with all-wheel drive offered as an optional upgrade. The RAV4's engine provides more punch than the Corolla Cross' four-cylinder unit, which cranks out 169 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. The Corolla Cross features a continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive available as an optional add-on. While the RAV4 outperforms the Corolla Cross in terms of power, the Corolla Cross is a better bet if you prioritize fuel economy for day-to-day city driving. This subcompact crossover manages an impressive 33 mpg on the highway and 31 mpg on city roads, compared to the RAV4's 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg at highway speeds. If you plan on towing a camper or trailer for a weekend trip, the RAV4 is a better choice. It has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds in its Adventure and TRD Off-Road trims. The maximum available towing capacity in the Corolla Cross is 1,500 pounds, which is about enough for a small teardrop camper. RAV4 vs. Corolla Cross Cargo and Passenger Capacity The Corolla Cross offers more than adequate storage space for your daily driving needs. It has over 26 cubic feet of storage behind the second row, which can carry a large load of groceries with room to spare. If you need more space for luggage or larger items, you may prefer the RAV4's 37 cubic feet of rear storage. However, both vehicles do a good job of hauling bulkier items with the rear seats folded flat. The Corolla Cross boasts 66 cubic feet of space with the rear row down, which is similar to the RAV4's 69 cubic feet. Both vehicles offer two rows of seating for five people, so they're equally accommodating for a small family. If you plan on carrying adult passengers in the rear row, the RAV4 offers more legroom than the Corolla Cross. The Corolla Cross' second row is perfect for kids to ride in, and adults can also ride back there for short trips. Infotainment and Safety Features There aren’t many differences between these two vehicles' standard entertainment systems, although the RAV4 offers a few features that you won't find in the Corolla Cross. Their base systems are similar. The Corolla Cross features a 7-inch screen and a six-speaker stereo, and the RAV4 includes an 8-inch screen and a six-speaker stereo. Both vehicles offer Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity. The RAV4 also has a Wi-Fi hotspot, Toyota’s virtual assistant, and a navigation system. It has an MSRP of around $22,500, while the RAV4 starts at approximately $27,500 MSRP. If you don't mind paying a bit extra, the RAV4 offers a wider array of upgrade options across its five trims, while the Corolla Cross offers three. The Corolla Cross' trims are L, LE, and XLE, while the RAV4 are LE, XLE, XLE Premium, Adventure, TRD Off-Road, and Limited trims. Stepping up to the LE trim in the Corolla Cross will get you a leather-trimmed steering wheel, proximity keyless entry, alloy wheels, and a larger infotainment screen. The XLE includes a power-adjustable driver's seat, synthetic leather upholstery, and heated front seats. In the RAV4, the XLE upgrade gets you power adjustments for the driver's seat, dual-zone climate control, and proximity keyless entry. The XLE trim adds synthetic leather seats, a power liftgate, and 19-inch wheels, while the Adventure features standard all-wheel drive and some off-road driving modes. The TRD Off-Road also has standard all-wheel drive and adds a front skid plate, off-roading suspension, all-terrain tires, and rubber floor mats. Finally, the Limited has heated and ventilated front seats, an 11-speaker stereo, a larger infotainment screen, and a power-adjustable front passenger seat. We hope our comparison of the Corolla Cross and RAV4 has helped you decide which Toyota SUV is best suited to you. Those of you looking for a well-equipped crossover for the daily commute with plenty of space for cargo and passengers are sure to like the Corolla Cross.
